How to Make a Paper Boat

from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit
This article is a stub. You can help by expanding and clarifying it. Notice added on 2007-07-28. Using a piece of regular office paper you can fold a boat that floats on water.

Steps

  1. Fold a normal sized (8.5" by 10") piece of paper in half, top to bottom.
  2. Fold the top, creased corners down into the middle of the paper.
  3. Fold the bottom of the paper up against both sides.
  4. Fold the bottom corners in, lapping them over each other, forming a triangle.
  5. Get the corners to meet, forming a square.
  6. Hold it with the flaps down and fold the corners into the top point.
  7. Pull the middle out to form a square.
  8. At the top there should be two triangles. Pull the triangles gently apart.
  9. You should now have a boat that floats!

Tips

  • Make sure you crease well. Use a ruler or paper folder to make tight folds.
  • Use a waxed paper from an art store to make your boat last longer, but be aware that the heavier the paper you use, the harder the boat will be to make.

Warnings

  • Be careful to avoid paper cuts.
